Financing Alliance for Health and Judith Neilson Foundation Partner to Advance Health Financing Reforms in Africa

Financing Alliance for Health (FAH) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Judith Neilson Foundation (JNF) through RESOLVE-Africa to support government-led health financing reforms in Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Zambia.

For several years, FAH has worked alongside governments and national institutions across these countries to strengthen health financing systems, improve public financial management, and advance reforms that support resilient and equitable primary health care. This new partnership will help deepen and accelerate that work by supporting country-led efforts to strengthen domestic health financing, build institutional capacity, and improve the effectiveness of public health spending

The partnership supports a multi-country initiative focused on three interconnected areas: domestic resource mobilization and strategic purchasing, public financial management strengthening, and institutional capacity building. By strengthening how resources are mobilized, managed, and directed to frontline services, the initiative seeks to support stronger primary health care systems and improved access to essential health services

A key component of the partnership is support for FAH’s Health Systems Accelerator Fellowship, which equips government leaders with the skills, networks, and practical experience needed to design and implement health financing reforms within their institutions. Through peer learning, mentorship, and applied reform projects, the fellowship helps strengthen the leadership and institutional capacity required to sustain long-term change

Together with government partners, FAH and JNF share a commitment to strengthening country-led solutions that contribute to more sustainable, resilient, and equitable health systems across Africa
