The Financing Alliance for Health (FAH) is announcing that its President and CEO, Dr. Angela Gichaga, will be taking a three-month sabbatical leave, between May and August, to rest, rejuvenate, and recharge after seven remarkable years of dedicated service. This sabbatical marks a significant milestone in Dr. Gichaga’s journey, allowing her to return with renewed energy to continue leading the organization’s mission of mobilizing $1 billion to narrow Africa’s community health funding gap.
“I am extremely proud of what we’ve built at FAH, alongside our partners and governments,” Dr. Gichaga said. “Together, we’ve made tremendous strides in improving healthcare access, job creation, and policy development. As I take this time to rejuvenate, I have full confidence in our team and in Sizwile Sibindi, our Head of Operations and Risk, who will step in as Acting President and CEO during my absence.” As the longest serving ExCo member, Sizwile brings extensive experience in international development, finance, and operational leadership as well as in depth knowledge of FAH to ensure that FAH continues to thrive.
Sizwile is honored to step into this interim role and excited to continue and grow FAH’s partnerships while expanding the organization’s reach. “I am proud of the work we have accomplished, and I look forward to building on the solid foundation Dr. Gichaga has created,” she said.
FAH remains steadfast in its’ commitment to improving healthcare access and advancing universal healthcare across the African continent.
