About Us

The Financing Alliance for Health (FAH) is an Africa-based, African-led, and Africa-focused health financing technical expert dedicated to supporting African governments to better leverage existing funds and mobilize new funding for effective, scalable and sustainable health systems. FAH was established in 2015 and is a registered 501(c)3 in the USA and a subsidiary NGO registered in Kenya as Advisory Alliance for Health, where the team is headquartered.

Our Mission :

We partner with governments on all steps of financing to strengthen and sustain community health systems; leveraging primary health care to attain universal health coverage.

Our Strategy

Our 2023-2027 strategy aims to transform health financing to achieve stronger community health and primary health systems at scale in Africa by focusing on 4 pillars

The strategy focuses on strengthening primary health care, integrating community health workers into health systems, and advancing universal health coverage. It emphasizes mobilizing diverse funding sources, including private sector and innovative financing mechanisms, to address the $4.4 billion annual funding gap in Sub-Saharan Africa. By partnering with governments and leveraging global health security initiatives, the strategy seeks to ensure resilient, integrated, and sustainable health services that improve access and outcomes for all communities.

Gender
Integration Strategy

The Financing Alliance for Health’s Gender Integration Strategy emphasizes the critical role of gender norms, roles, and relationships in influencing health outcomes.

By incorporating gender considerations into all aspects of our programs, the strategy aims to ensure equitable access to health resources and improve overall well-being. This approach not only promotes women empowerment but also enhances the effectiveness and sustainability of health interventions.

Our Team

Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, FAH has a staff of about 50 people, with diverse backgrounds and in-depth experience in public sector, private sector, as well as health and finance expertise in developing contexts. We are committed to creating opportunities for the Global South, particularly for women and youth, to have a voice in shaping and influencing the policies that affect them.
